Pre-Prosthetic Surgery (to prepare for dentures)
Ensure Proper Placement of a Prosthesis
Dr. Nielson can ensure proper placement of a prosthesis, such as a partial or complete denture, by performing the necessary pre-prosthetic surgery. The oral surgical procedure is usually minor in nature. The bone ridge, on which the denture will be placed, must be a proper shape and size. Sometimes tooth extraction is necessary. Great Plains OMS helps our patients as they prepare for their dentures by performing these or other pre-prosthetic surgery options, which can include removal of excess bone, bone ridge reduction or reshaping, removal of excess tissue, and smoothing of the bone area.
