COVID-19 UPDATE: MARCH 20TH, 2020
March 20, 2020
Great Plains Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery takes the health and safety of our patients and our staff seriously. To comply with the recent direction of ADA we are continuing to temporarily put our elective procedures on hold. Our goal is to make sure we keep those around us safe and well.
COVID 19 pandemic is placing us in a novel situation and making us rethink how we deliver treatment in this environment. New developments and instructions on care and safety are being updated and shared by the CDC, AMA, ADA, KDA, KDHE (State health department) on a daily basis. Effective immediately Great Plains Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery has decided to put the following into place:
- We will delay scheduling elective surgery until further notice. This date may change, depending on future developments, and we are making our plan in two-week blocks.
- We will be accepting patients with emergent or urgent conditions, on a referral basis, as our availability will allow. Concentrating on emergency dental care will allow us to alleviate the burden that dental emergencies would place on you, referring doctors, and the local hospital emergency departments.
- Our office will be open to answer your phone calls, with limited hours starting Monday March 23, Monday – Friday 9:00 am to 2:00. We will be available to see patients that require true urgent/emergent treatment in our clinic. Please note these hours may change!
- We continue to strongly recommend that anyone:
- Over the age of 60
- Having a serious medical condition
- Currently pregnant
should reschedule any doctor/ dental visits unless there is an emergent clinical situation why they should be seen at this time.
As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery office: our aim is to always to be here for our patients. Please call the office if you have any questions or concerns. As always, thank you for your continued support as we work together during this unprecedented time. Please don’t hesitate to contact our team with any questions.
